The prologue and the epilogue to our wedding

Before the Wedding: Silvija's hens night

First there was a hens night, on the 15. July. Cocktails, dinner, dancing etc. Here at the Duke of Cambridge: Sadie, Christie, Corina, Nenagh, me, Hester. Ruvani joined us later. We tried to convince Ben and Jim to join us but they wouldn't.

The day after: Punting on Cherwell

Great weather. In the first punt: Bob with the pole, and Erin, Christian, Alita and Jan in the passenger seats. Gytte, Liv and Fredrik in the second punt. And some champagne. And many more people and more champagne in the three "parked" punts.

Kids climbing the trees: Victoria and Bettina high, and Didrik even higher.

Kaia and the kids, and my mother in her element:

The day after: on the way to the Trout

The "new" family in Magdalene College Cloisters, on our way to King's Arms. This is when we lost Didrik - happily only for a very short while.

We saw some deer at Magdalene college, after this excitement some of the kids needed carrying - here Victoria at Andreas Sr's back.

Then we started walking towards the trout. We walked through Jericho, then over Port Meadow and then along the Thames. Here are Christin and Ronny with some cows and the meadow in the background.

The day after: in the Trout

The Trout is a pub beside the Thames:

The food and the beer are good, but the best thing about this place is the surrounding: the river, rapids, the greenery, flowers, peacocks, and an old house. Here Titti's friends: Cia with Bjørn and Gytte with Kaare (they had a grandchild on this same day!) on the first photo, and clockwise from Titti on the second photo: Andreas's aunt Unn, Jacqueline, her husband Fredrik, Andreas's aunt Mette, her partner Erik (barely visible), then Jan and his wife Erin.

The team from Novi Sad around a table, and a symbolic broken bridge in the background...

Silvija with Maja's husband Boris, and Nenagh with her boyfriend Stephen on the outside...

and Kjell Fredik with his wife Barbro, and Andreas with his wife on the inside of the pub:

The day after: at home again

We had a quiet evening after this - and we discovered that Andreas's little niece Camilla (1.4 years old) *loves* bananas and acid jazz. Her dancing was the highlight of the day for me. Andreas's sister Mette and their niece Bettina (Camilla's sister) on the other photo.

The day after this we spent with the family - our parents left for Norway, so did Gabi, Øystein and Mette, and Kaia and the kids stayed one more day.

We had a late lunch in the garden, and a dinner at the Cherwell Boathouse.

Some people went to see Blenheim palace.

Here we are punting again. Didrik is faster that anyone else on the river.

Ivana stayed for another week with us, and she and I went to Devon for a 3 day trip, while Andreas went to Tvedestrand in Norway for a belated stag's night.

Andreas is now trying to finish his MSc thesis, which is due 1st of September. After that we are planning a week in Yugoslavia, to see my relatives and friends who couldn't make it to the wedding and were greatly missed. After that we're hoping for a couple of weeks in the sun, somewhere quiet with a beach and nothing to worry about. And after that I have 3 more months of hard work to submit my PhD thesis by January.
